Knit Together In Love

I want them [the Colossians] to be encouraged and knit together by strong ties of love (Colossians 2:2a NLT).

Colossians 2 In your Bible

Jesus said, “Abide in me and I in you” (John 15:4a NASB) and Paul writes, . . . Christ in you the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27b NASB). These are true today for all – a mystery of God. It takes faith.

Be Established in you Faith

Paul encourages believers to walk out their faith. Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude (Colossians 2:6,7 NASB).

He goes on to write . . .I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we’ve been shown that mystery (Colossians 2:2,3 The Message).

Christ is Over Everything

Paul reiterates that Jesus Christ is head of everything – every ruler and power! For in Christ lives all the fullness of God. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is head over every ruler and authority</em (Colossians 2:9,10 NLT).

Prayer: Father, I will abide in you, grow in my faith (with your help) and do your will daily (also with your help).

Questions: What is your thought as you read Christ in you the hope of glory? You’ve read it possibly many times, now dwell on the wonderful impact it has. Does it change your thoughts on Paul’s teachings (see Philippians 4:13 and Philippians 4:9)?
