Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name (Philippians 2:9 NIV).

Philippians 2:1-18 In your Bible
Paul encouraged the Philippians. He reminded them of the love of Christ and his (Jesus’) position with God the Father. Paul establishes that Jesus is the one to be exalted – the believer’s task is to develop a Christlike lifestyle.
The Exalted One
Paul jumps right in to tell believers that Jesus holds a special place with God—highly exalted. This is serious stuff.
Because of that [Jesus’] obedience, God lifted him high and honored him far beyond anyone or anything, ever, so that all created beings in heaven and on earth—even those long ago dead and buried—will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11 The Message).
Two other scriptures state that every knee will bow at the mention of Jesus’ name (Romans 14:11 and Isaiah 45:22-24). Paul expands the enormity of the power of Jesus’ name—in heaven, on earth, and under the earth!
… at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:9-11 New American Standard Bible).
Jesus’ name will bring glory to the Father.
Prayer: Father, yes we exalt Jesus and give you praise for all you have done.
Questions: What do you think when you hear “the name of Jesus”? Does it make you even more serious about God when you realize how important the name of Jesus will be in the end times?
