The Mind Of Christ

The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along (1 Corinthians 2:10 The Message).

The Message: 1 Corinthians 2 :1-16
In Your Bible: 1 Corinthians 2:1-16

Paul wrote his letters to the first century churches, he wanted to “keeps it simple” (though you wondered at his wordiness). He preached Christ and Him crucified. Paul breaks it down for the new and mature believer to learn and grow in Christ.

A New Creation With a Purpose

When the believer receives Christ he is a new creation of God! This believer has the Spirit of God, The Spirit of Christ, and the Holy Spirit living inside him. This is powerful! This is with a purpose—to gain God’s wisdom!

“No one has ever seen or heard anything like this,
Never so much has imagined anything quite like it—
What God has arranged for those who love Him”

(Isaiah 64:4 The Message).

The Spirit is the Key

But you’ve seen and heard it because God by His Spirit has brought it all out into the open for you. The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God, and brings out what God planned all along (1 Corinthians 2:9,10 The Message).

God’s spirit in communion with the believer’s spirit propels them into what God intends. It answers Isaiah’s question, “For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we [believers] have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16 NIV).

There you have it: All believers in Christ can seek and know what God has in mind via the Spirit.

Prayer: Father, what a wonder you are. Ancients of old and scholars of present time marvel at your concern for man and desire to seek what you want for them.

Question: How does this fit with your concept of God’s interest in you. Do you too wonder at our Gracious God seeking to communicate with us?
